The Shiv Nadar Foundation was established in 1994 by Shiv Nadar, Founder, HCL – US$ 11 billion leading global enterprise. This involves building institutions of excellence, imparting students with world-class skills and a strong sense of values, and triggering transformation through the Ripple Effect. Cumulatively, the Foundation has helped to shape the futures of more than 30,000 students over the years.

Institutions created by the Foundation include SSN College of Engineering and the VidyaGyan Leadership Academy amongst others. Affiliated to Anna University, SSN is one of the top 10 private engineering colleges in India and has crafted a niche for itself. Top companies visit SSN regularly and graduates have been recruited for international assignments by companies like Apple and Facebook amongst others. VidyaGyan Leadership Academy is a K-12 school for rural underprivileged students and provide free residential education to the selected students from 6th till 12thclass. Placements at Shiv Nadar University Chennai will be handled by the same team which has churned out excellent placements for SSN over the years. In addition to encouraging students to place in Top Companies, the career development centre will also be instrumental in preparing students for various career opportunities and higher education through focused training, industry exposure, lectures by top practitioners from various fields and internships.

A comprehensive diagnostic test will be conducted on all the students to make them aware of their strengths and weakness and a training calendar prepared based on the results of this test.


The team will actively seek out relationship building with the companies much beyond campus recruitment and believes in engaging the organization on various campus activities.

The fact that over 230 organizations visited the SSN campus last year and made over 1200 quality offers is a testimony to the dynamism of the placement team. Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Adobe, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Citi, Barclays and PayPal are some of the prominent recruiters that hire top talents from SSN every academic year. In addition to the major IT/ITES companies, some of the leading core engineering companies like Dow Chemicals, TATA Chemicals, Philips, Hyundai, Daimler, Ford, MRF, TITAN, Technip, Siemens and Caterpillar hire a large pool of talents from SSN every academic year. The highest domestic CTC offered last year was 64 lakh per annum and the average CTC was 7.54 lakh per annum. The average CTC for the top 10% selection was standing at 21.70 lakh per annum last year. Facebook, Apple, Spotify, Fuji Xerox, Cobblestone Energy and Virtusa are some of the leading companies that recruited students from SSN for international opportunities over the years.
