“CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was established as ‘Christ College’ in 1969. It undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff.”

The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conferred Autonomy to Christ College in 2004 and identified it as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006. In 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, declared the institution a Deemed to be University, in the name and style of Christ University. One of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the NAAC, and subsequently in 2004 and 2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has the top grade ‘A’ in the 4-point scale.

“The multi-disciplinary University which focuses on teaching research and service offers Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programmes in humanities, social sciences, sciences, commerce, management, engineering, architecture, education, and law to about 25000 students. The University offers its programmes at three campus locations in Bangalore in Karnataka; and in Pune Lavasa in Maharashtra and Delhi NCR.

The campus is a living example of harmonious multiculturalism with students from all the states and union territories and around 60 different countries. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) publishes six peer-reviewed research journals and has published more than 300 books in Kannada and English. A promoter of sports, music and literary activities, it is a nurturing ground for creative excellence.

CU Karnataka course eligibility 2024

B.ARCH

1. Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) from any recognised Board in India.

Students pursuing an International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
Applicants pursuing the IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.

It is compulsory to have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the Class XII level.

Candidates who Passed the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject may also apply with their class X and Diploma marks.

2. Qualifying test Eligibility
Qualified in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2022.

Qualified in National Testing Agency (NTA) (i.e.JEE) 2022.

*NOTE: The eligibility would be as per the COA Norms announced periodically

M.ARCH

A candidate who has passed with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate the Bachelors of Architecture or equivalent courses recognized by the Council of Architecture in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.
Candidates who are in the final year of their studies in B.Arch appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2022 are also eligible to apply. They should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far.

The candidate shall apply with a Statement of Purpose and three recommendation letters. There shall be an entrance examination conducted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University) followed by a personal interview of the candidate's portfolio of academic and professional works.

PHD (ARCH)

Master in Architecture (MArch) or Allied areas from recognized institutions with not less than 55% of marks, or a CGPA of 5.5 and above on the 10 point scale. Students who have completed their post-graduation from an international university must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

BBA

Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India.Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

MBA

Candidates who have passed Undergraduate degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above, from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU, are eligible to apply.Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2022 are also eligible to apply (Applicants who are in the last year of their studies should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far).

BE/BTECH

Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) Examination from any recognised Board.Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at +2 level and obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 50% in Mathematics.Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

ME/MTECH

Candidates who have passed B.Tech / B.E with 55% aggregate marks from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2022 are also eligible to apply (Applicants who are in the final year of their studies in (B.Tech / B.E) should have secured 55% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far).

LLM

Candidates who have passed Undergraduate degree LLB (3 or 5 year courses) with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above, from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU, are eligible to apply.
Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2022 are also eligible to apply (Applicants who are in the last year of their studies in LLB (3 or 5 year courses) should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far).

BA.LLB

Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream with minimum of 45% (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India.Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

SCHOOL OF SCIENCE

Basic eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) from any recognised Board in India.
It is compulsory to have studied any two subjects (Biotechnology, Chemistry and Botany(Biology)) at Class XII level.
Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

The Placement Office facilitates the students to explore the world of employment and new career avenues. It also helps students in career planning through counseling where in they gather information about themselves in terms of their interests, aptitudes and abilities so that they can choose their career more effectively. The objective of the Placement Office is also on the professional development of the students by training them towards employability skills such as resume building, group discussion and interview skills which in turn helps the students to move into a desired occupation and/or apply in prestigious postgraduate and professional schools.

The Placement Office takes the initiative to explore new career avenues for graduates and post graduates through visits to new companies and unexplored sectors. Campus recruitments are organized every year. The selection process generally starts with a pre-placement talk in which a firm/organisation gives the students insights into the company profile, job profile, career path, CTC etc. which is followed by the actual selection process i.e., written test, group discussion, interview etc. The University has state-of-the-art facilities that make campus recruitment a pleasant experience. Student placement representatives from each class are also present to provide assistance throughout the selection process
