Suguna College of Engineering , Coimbatore is established under Suguna Charitable Trust founded in the year 1973 by the leading Industrialist Sri. G. Ramaswamy. The college is located at 1 km off the Coimbatore – Avinashi National Highway (NH47), at Nehru Nagar, Near International Airport, Coimbatore City- 641 014.

The Training and Placement Cell of Suguna College of Engineering, provides the students with best of the placement opportunities to help them kick start their careers. STEP – Suguna Training & Entrepreneurship Development and Placement cell focuses on placements as well as institutionalize the process of providing internships with rigorous training to the students from day one.

.

The cell is designed to be students driven, we  work for the comprehensive development of the students of our college facilitating them to explore various career options by providing them proper and constructive training through numerous workshops and counselling sessions that are guided by professionals.

 The STEP Cell:

The STEP is head by an experience professional who has experience in Senior positions in the Industry and Good Experience in Training and Development for leading corporate and college Students.

The Structure:

  • Each and every department has a coordinator to provide necessary coordinate with the cell and the department for Training and Placement activities.
  • Each and every class has a student’s representative for coordinating with cell, training coordinator and the class students.
  • The cell has its own student’s volunteers for required coordination activities.

The Training Department:

The training department is committed to provide the right type of knowledge and skills set both technical skills and the required soft skills based on the requirement of the individual students’ desire and industry requirement

What we do.

  • Training is given importance from day one of the students’ college life.
  • Students are been made aware about the skills set required in the work place.
  • Individually students are counselled to know their passionate work sector,
  • A career map is drafted individually.
  • We identify the required skills set that are required in their various stages of their career ladder.

 External Training Activities

Apart from planned and structured training programs from the cell, the department also focuses on indentifying and constructing training programs with tie up with External Expertise Training Institutes that are very much in present for future demand in the Industry.

 

The Placement Department:

 The Placement Cell of Suguna College of Engineering focuses to groom the students into well-grounded leaders who have a strong rooting in functional expertise, a realistic real time understanding of the business and technical world, an action oriented decision making skills and above all high level of ethics and integrity. The Training Department of the Cell lays a foundation for the holistic development of the student. It conducts various workshops and training sessions on topics like Resume Building and Group Discussions that help the students to present themselves confidently and leave a mark of their personality.

What we do:

  • The department identifies the industries and companies to place the students as per the students’ requirement.
  • Placement training starts right from the 3rd year and with plenty of mock session, industry wise,& factory wise to make the students at ease and confident during interview.
  • A smooth and cordial relationship is developed between the students and the placement cell, for ease of students to get comfortably placed.
  • .The final year’s students are assisted to prepare a well structured resume well in advance.
  • A well designed Aptitude oriented training is provided through external trainers for preparing students for Competitive exams and for corporate placement.
  • The cell identifies many core companies for the students’ internship activities and placement activities thereof with the companies.

 

Industry Institute Partnership Cell         

The Training & Placement Cell firmly believes in ‘Industry-Institute Interaction’. The Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) has been established on 05.09.2012 at Suguna College of Engineering with the sponsorship of AICTE New Delhi.

 In order to accomplish the same, the cell organizes Experiential learning sessions through technical talks, seminars and workshops to provide a platform for the budding Engineer’s to interact with professionals from various industries and thus making an attempt to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications with an intent to mould them to be industry-ready.

To enter gracefully into the corporate world for the students, our IIPC cell plays a significant role. The cell helps the students in making effortless transition from the intellectual rigor at college to the work efficiencies of a real organization. The Internship Wing explores various platforms and proffers the best relevant opportunities to the students of 1st year to 4th   year students.  Over the years, the college has witnessed an impressive hike in the quality and quantity of internships being offered to the students.
