In accordance with the general policy of the Government of Pondicherry to give high priority to technical and professional education in order to meet the demand for professionals. The Building for the college is constructed in an area of 30 Acres of Land at Kirumambakkam, 13 Kms from Pondicherry towards Cuddalore in a beautifully elevated, pollution free surroundings on the East Coast Road. About 2,25,000 Sq. ft.

About 2,25,000 Sq. ft. of construction is being done to match International Standards under the advice of Prof. A Mohammed Hans, Director, School of Architecture and Town Planning, Anna University, Chennai. Pondicherry is 145 kms away from Chennai. It is well connected by road and rail. The nearest Airport is Chennai airport and the Railway station is Cuddalore. The Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville and Manakkula Vinayagar Temple are also located in the Union Territory, well known for its weather and conducive learning atmosphere. The college has Spacious Class Rooms, Drawing Hall, good collection of books in the Library, fully Air-conditioned Computer Lab with sufficient infrastructure, well equipped Physics and Chemistry Labs, Basic Workshops, Staff Room, Students Rest Rooms and a Canteen for the use of students and staff.

A).Candidates for admission to the first semester of the 8 semester B.Tech. degree programme should be required to have passed:  Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together

B). For Lateral entry into third semester of the eight semester B.Tech  Programme:

a.) Passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution or DOTE approved; with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.

b.) Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.

c.) Provided that in case of students belonging to B. Sc. Stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program along with the second year subjects.

d.) Provided further that, the students belonging to B. Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.

e.) Provided further that students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institution or B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the first year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

However the admissions shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in a, b, d, and e above. 

C). For MCA
Recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level. Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination.

D). For MBA 
Recognized Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination

 

AGE LIMIT

The candidate should not have completed 21 years of age as on 1st July of the academic year under consideration. For Lateral Entry admission to second year of degree programme, candidate should not have completed 24 years as on 1st July of the academic year under consideration. In the case of SC/ST candidates, the age limit is relax able by 3 years for both the cases.

The College has a Training and Placement Cell for the benefit of students. The Cell has been very active ever since its inception. It trains the students for Employability skills through Aptitude Tests, Group Discussions, Mock Interviews and Communication Skills etc thereby preparing the students to face the Campus Interviews with confidence.

The vital role of the Cell is to mould the students through vigorous training to face the challenges of future and help them get placed in MNCs 

The Cell arranges various workshops, which highlights the avenues and opportunities for the students by bringing eminent personalities and trainers from various Industries. T&P Cell is also responsible for maintaining Industry-Institutional Relationships through which it has approached many companies and brought them to the campus for recruitment. It receives continuous support from professional bodies like NIPM (National Institute of Personal Management) and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and Companies like NLC (Neyveli Lignite Corporation), TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Chennai and L&T (Larsen and Turbo Ltd) Chennai, HLL, HCL Info systems Ltd, BERGER PAINTS, MARICO Industries, SUZLON ENERGY Ltd,  RANE BRAKES Ltd, IBM-LENOVO- Pondicherry, etc.
 

Apart from training and developing the students, the Cell takes initiative in arranging FDP (Faculty Development Programs) by eminent consultants, to empower the faculty members with the latest trends in order to enhance their skills in innovative methods of teaching.
The Cell’s other activities include arranging Industrial Visits and In-plant training. Some of the Companies in which the students have undergone In-plant training are ISRO, BSNL, LENOVO, ACE GLASS CONTAINERS, INDIAN RAILWAYS and BHARAT ELECTRONICS etc. Students are also periodically informed on opportunities available for higher education both within and outside India by arranging seminars/workshops on Overseas Education.

The T& P Cell is instrumental in motivating the students about their career opportunities and helps them to achieve their goals.
