N S S College of Engineering, Palakkad is one of the most reputed, premier engineering educational institution in Kerala affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. It was established in 1960 by Nair Service Society under the leadership of late Bharatha Kesari Mannathu Padmanabhan, during the second five year plan with the assistance of the Central and State Government under the grant-in-aid scheme. The college has an enviable heritage and legacy of grooming brilliant engineering professionals who later made their mark in industrial and other sectors of the country and abroad. At present, the institution offers B.Tech degree courses in six branches and M.Tech degree courses in Communication Engineering, Power Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering, Structural Engineering and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
Situated in NSS Nagar at Akathethara, 9 km from Palakkad town, the Campus is easily accessible, being only 4 km from the Palakkad Railway Junction, and is only 5 km from the renowned Malampuzha Gardens. Spread over 125 acres, the college includes an administrative block, separate blocks for each department, a library block and four hostels including one for ladies. Nestling among verdant foothills, the institution is a tranquil and serene setting for higher education.

We have a very simple and transparent placement policy. Companies are invited through e-mail messages, phone calls and faxes. Companies interested in recruiting our students have to fill up the Job Announcement Form in which information related to job description, job profile, place of posting and remuneration etc. are to be clearly mentioned. The Placement Cell scrutinizes the job announcement forms of all companies and dates for campus visit are allotted to the companies accordingly keeping in view the interest of both parties.

  1. After confirmation by the company, a pre-placement talk is arranged on the date/prior to the date of selection.
  2. The company conducts test and/or group discussion to short list the interested students.
  3. The short listed students are then interviewed for final selection by the company.
  4. The result is usually announced on the same day.

The B.Tech Course in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering have been accredited with B3 Grade and Instrumentation & Control Engineering has been accredited with B5 Grade by NBA ( National Board of Accreditation ).
All the departments are due for next accreditation and the Institution is getting ready for the process
The admission to the B.Tech degree course is on the basis of the All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala.
The Commission fills up 85 % of the seats on the basis of merit and the Management fills up 15 % from the Rank list of the Engineering Entrance examinations. Another 10 % of the students are admitted under Lateral Entry scheme in the 3rd semester.
Entrance Test / Admission Criteria 50% marks in the qualifying examination
Pass in the entrance test conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Kerala.
