Kalvithanthai M.Ramaswamy Mudaliar, a spiritual innovator for educational Institutions, started MEENACHI RAMASAMY EDUCATIONAL TRUST in the year 2000 with the view to improve the Literacy Rate in the Native District, Ariyalur. With 5 UG courses, Meenachi Ramsamy Arts & Science College was started in 2000. Now the trust runs 9 Institution with Arts & Science (20 UG & 12 PG with PhD), Engineering, Polytechnic, Teacher Training Institute, College of education, Hotel Management School, Physical Education College, Industrial School,IAS Academy. His contribution to the society ended by 2005. Since then, free education is provided to orphan students in the memory of his contribution. But the strong foundation laid by him thrived his successors to take over and achieve the mission of starting an Engineering College. His mission has been made into reality by establishing Meenakshi Ramaswamy Engineering College in the year 2009 to provide Technical Education to the society. This is the first engineering college to be started in this district.
