Idhaya Engineering College for Women (IECW) was established in 2001. It was approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is a Christian Minority Institution. Two decades of excellence in engineering education enhances IECW’s reputation far and wide. Since its inception, IECW has been laying emphasis on engineering education for women. It is a beacon for aspiring young women guiding them to achieve a significant engineering degree under the auspicious guidance and committed leadership of The Franciscan Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary Congregation (FIHM), Puducherry .

IECW is an ISO 9001:2015 certified Institution. It has 2(F) status of UGC act 1956 for getting central funding assistance. It has Institutional membership with INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION (ISTE) and COMPUTER SOCIETY OF INDIA (CSI). The undergraduate programmes of CSE and ECE are permanently affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. Good numbers of MoUs has been signed with many MNCs and International Universities for training and placement activities and research programs.

The great strides of IECW in the transformation of academic to research program enables young engineering students to acquire high-end technology skills in the competitive world. IECW impart qualitative intellectual knowledge and skill based professional education exclusively for women through our competent staff and well equipped infrastructure. On the path of success, students of IECW have scored excellent results in all Anna University semester examinations and good numbers of students secured University ranks. Meritorious students are honoured with special Scholarships. IECW has been marching towards new verticals in achieving academic excellence with a strong commitment and dedicated approach.

IECW offers top class technical education for women along with career development & placements in reputed institutions. The IECW Sports team is competent, winning trophies in Zonal level Ball Badminton, Shuttle Badminton and Athletics consecutively. The establishment of Idhaya Technological Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (ITETC) is a mile stone of IECW. IECW has strong alumni network (OSAI – Old Students Association of Idhaya) as a platform for past students to turn in to IECW and share their experiences.

Our training programme is divided into two divisions.

External Training

Internal Training

The External Training division is providing training to all students through hiring external agencies / Free lancers based the intuitional requirements with the duration of 10 days which is split into 5 days in odd and even semesters

First year : Communicative English

Second year : General Aptitude

Third Year : Technical skills as per department’s requirement

Final Year : Life and Soft skills for the employability

At the end of training, trainers will conduct test in order to access the student’s involvement and learning.

The Internal training division is training the students regularly by allotting one period per week along with regular curriculum. The Internal training team will enhance the student’s skills or knowledge which they acquired through external training based on the department and year.
