Francis Xavier Engineering College (FXEC), established in 2000 is an Autonomous, DST-FIST Supported Engineering Institution offering NBA Accredited Programmes. The institution is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College is one of the premier Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu offering Under Graduate, Post Graduate Programmes in Engineering, MBA and MCA Programmes.

The College is situated in the heart of Tirunelveli city. The college has active MoUs with Oracle, Dell-EMC2, Autodesk, VMWare, Palo Alto Networks, Strategiqa, Ezeetrak, Avid GSL Solutions (Japan) and similar leading companies. This helps the students interact regularly with the corporate world and make them industry ready. Training in the area of Networking such as CCNA certification is provided for the students from the CISCO Academy.

FX Engineering College has got the privilege to have the only nodal center in the South Tamilnadu and hosting centre for Cloud Computing and Big Data.

Placements are provided to the students of Engineering, Post Graduates in Business Administration (MBA) and Computer Application (MCA) by T&P cell. The placement cell strives to achieve 100% placements year on year.
