College of Engineering Attingal, established by Institute of Human Resources Development(IHRD), an autonomous educational institution a Government of Kerala undertaking, is a premier technical institute having a well-flourished environment for molding professionals. IHRD is dedicated to the scientific advancement, technological progress and economic growth of the country through human resource development. IHRD is a major academic hub having more than 92 institutions including 9 Engineering colleges. College of Engineering Attingal started functioning in the academic year 2004-2005 with two-degree courses offered in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering and later Electrical and Electronics Engineering was approved. The Institution has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education and is an affiliated institution under APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University (KTU). The college has not applied for accreditation by NBA.

 The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of College of Engineering Attingal is one of the most active student body on the campus. It has been helping students to establish their careers since the college's first batch. It is a hotspot for campus placements due to it is proximity to the Technopark -Trivandrum. UST global, Cognizant Technologies, IBS, Inderland Technologies, Mozanzta Technologies, Pits Solutions are some of the many companies recruiting from  College of Engineering Attingal.

The CGPU provides appropriate training to students in General Aptitude, Group Discussion, Interview, and various other skills required for recruitment from third semester onwards. With the realisation that in todays corporate job environment these skills are the evaluation points of every applicants and hence besides the academic guidance we provide such additional training to improve their employability and prepared for an actual job environment. The cell has successfully guided hundreds of students to getting placed with an active participation from the students as well as the staff members and aims to do further more in upcoming years.
