CMRIT Karnataka course eligibility 2024

BE/BTECH

        Passed in 2^nd PUC/ 12^th / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics/ Computers. (40% for Karnataka reserved category candidates).Candidate must also qualify in one of the following entrance exams:  CET/ COMED-K / JEE / AIEEE                                                                                     

ME/MTECH

VLSI and Embedded Systems course shall be open to candidates who have passed the Bachelor’s Degree examinations with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of all the semesters of the degree examinations (45% for SC/ST candidates belonging to Karnataka). The candidate shall have passed Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation Technology / Telecommunication Engineering / Electrical & Electronics / Bio-Medical Engineering / Medical Electronics or equivalent degree; AMIE in appropriate branch.

In addition, the candidate must have also taken at least one of the following entrance exams: GATE/PGCET

MBA

Admission is open, to the Master of Business Administration Course, to all the candidates who possess a Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years’ duration recognized by VTU or who have passed any other examination recognized by this university as equivalent thereto.

The candidates shall have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years/semesters of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall be not less than 45%.

In addition, the candidate must have also taken at least one of the following entrance exams: CMAT/ CAT/MAT/ PGCET/K-MAT

MCA

Admission to M.C.A. programmes shall be open to candidates who have passed the relevant  Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 50% aggregate marks. (45% for SC/ST candidates belonging to Karnataka). The candidate must have also taken at least one of the  prescribed  Entrance exams as specified in the Admission process below.

PHD

The minimum academic qualifications to be satisfied by the candidates seeking admission to the PhD in engineering in Bangalore, shall be as given below:

(a) The candidates shall possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent from the University or any other University recognized by it, with a minimum CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 or 60% aggregate marks at either the Bachelor’s or the Master’s Degree, or

(b) The candidates possessing Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent recognized by the University with outstanding merit, having either a minimum CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 or 70% aggregate marks and published research papers in refereed journals or filed/obtained patents shall also be eligible for admission, subject to approval by the. Admissions Committee, or

(c) The candidates pursuing M.Sc.(Engg.) Degree by Research at the University, who have successfully completed the prescribed coursework in the first two semesters of study with outstanding merit of either a minimum CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 or 70% aggregate marks and published research papers in refereed journals or filed/obtained patents shall be eligible for upgradation to the M.Sc.(Engg.) + Ph. D Integrated Dual Degree programme, subject to approval by the Admissions Committee, or

(d) The candidates pursuing M. Tech. Degree at the University who have successfully completed the prescribed coursework in the first three semesters of study with outstanding merit of either a minimum CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 or 70 % aggregate marks and demonstrated good research aptitude shall be eligible for up-gradation to M. Tech. + Ph.D. Integrated Dual Degree Programme, subject to approval by the Admissions Committee.

The Career Guidance and Placement Bureau at CMRIT plays a pivotal role in preparing students for their personal and professional life. Set up in 2000, the Career Guidance and Placement Bureau functions across all academic departments and offers placement assistance.

We put forward a variety of student-centric services as a single window point for career counselling and career development in all fields which complement classroom learning and prepare students for careers in industry, entrepreneurship, research or further studies.

We understand that each student is unique, and have different aspirations and plans for one’s careers ahead. Whether one is interested in pursuing further studies, becoming entrepreneur or working in industry, we are here to help.

Campus Hiring

We work closely with our industry partners to understand their project requirements, needs and expectations for the campus hiring process, and then match eligible students with placement opportunities through on/off campus hiring, internships and projects.

Entrepreneurship

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell (IEC) offers programs and seminars for those students who are interested in entrepreneurship. It first runs awareness session to get students enrol with IEC. It then runs idea generation workshops with students and works with industry to get ideas accepted and sponsored to develop prototypes and experiment ideas. It then supports interested students to grow as entrepreneurs connecting to external partners and alumni.

Further Studies

For students interested in continuing their education through Post Graduation, Doctoral and Research programmes,

• We identify and recognize students’ aspirations for doing further studies.
• We support students through faculty mentorship program in building their profile for further studies.
• We encourage students to participate in research project opportunities in Centre’s of Excellence.
• We help students get in touch with our alumni who are pursuing higher studies abroad, for guidance on application processes, information and admissions requirements.
• We conduct awareness sessions on Studying Abroad and in India, Premier Universities, Scholarships, Qualifying and Competitive Examinations, etc.
• We help and support students to appear and score in GRE/TOEFL/IELTS exams. We partner with training institutes and consulting organization to help students for Studying Abroad.
• We partner with organizations or bodies that trains students in foreign languages to get qualified for Studying Abroad in specific countries

  Each year, we invite our industry partners and other reputed organizations to the college campus to participate in the placement process for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. We connect to invited companies, discuss their requirements and mutually agree on a tentative date for doing the placement drive. We also connect to all students, collate the student data, get their registrations for placements and brief them the placement policy and rules before the placement season starts for all the final year students.

  We follow the below placement process for smooth running of placement drives and the post selection steps of offer acceptance, pre-joining formalities and the candidate joining process:

• We get the job requirements, position description, eligibility criteria, salary details and the company introduction note that we can share with students.
• We publish the company details and their requirements to all students through a college internal portal.
• Eligible and interested students apply for jobs by registering themselves on the portal.
• We send eligible and interested students list to the company with all the student data like degree/department, date of birth, prior education marks, current CGPA, backlogs, etc.
• Companies will review the students, shortlist if required and send the final list of students prior to the placement drive date.
• Visiting companies will start with pre-placement talk on drive date and directly interact with the eligible students. During these sessions, they will provide overviews of the job profiles, job descriptions, compensation, company’s expectations and other specific requirements. Students will clarify any questions they have with company delegates.
• Companies typically conduct Written Tests, Group Discussions/Case Studies and Personal Interviews as part of the placement process.
• Most companies announce the selected students by end of day on the drive date. Further to this, Company’s HR team confirms selected students list by a mail.
• As a post selection process, Companies send formal offer letters to the individual students with a copy to placement department.
• We connect to students and follow through the acceptance process and any other post offer activities like document submissions, briefing sessions, trainings, internships, etc.
• We are connected to students and the companies till all the students completes post offer formalities and joins the organization.

Students who wish to seek admission to the various undergraduate programmes in engineering at CMR Institute of Technology may do so via one of the following processes:

Common Entrance Test (CET) and Selection Process

The Government of Karnataka conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) through the Karnataka Examination Authority. This entrance exam is a gateway to obtaining an engineering seat through the Government quota. The CET conducts the examination in four subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates who wish to seek admission in engineering courses should appear for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics exams. Students are offered a choice of colleges based on their CET ranking at the time of CET counseling, and can choose CMRIT at the time of CET counseling. COMEDK and Selection Process

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association namely “Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka”, COMEDK also conducts entrance examinations for all students irrespective of state. After the COMEDK entrance test is administered and the test scores and rank lists have been published, centralized counseling will be conducted. Students are given the option of selecting the college of their choice during COMEDK counseling, and can choose CMRIT at this time.

Management Admission Process

Admission through this process is open to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students. Eligible students (those who meet qualifying requirements as per the eligibility criteria) may contact the CMRIT Admissions Section in order to obtain the application form. Candidates will be selected based on their academic merit.
