Training

At AIT Palakkad, training is a continuous activity which starts right from first year. AIT aims to develop the overall personality of students by exposing them to various technical and non-technical activities within and outside the campus.

The AIT Conferences and Colloquium, student development programmes, workshops, vacation projects and monthly seminars are meant along training the students across. The various non-technical activities the students go through are positioned to make them pick up various skill sets outside the class rooms. These activities are spread across the 4 years of study.

 

Placement

AIT placement activity is strongly positioned with a number of trust members (over 300) positioned in various technical and management positions within and outside India. The expertise and contacts of these members are expected to lead to a healthy placement by the time the students complete studies

AIT Palakkad is offering 4 year full time, BTech (Bachelor of Technology) degree programme in the following disciplines.

  1. Civil Engineering (CE)
  2. Computer Science and Engineering (CS)
  3. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EE)
  4. Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC)
  5. Mechanical Engineering (ME)

An intake of 60 seats are envisaged in each of the disciplines. 50% of the seats are for the merit quota by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Govt. of Kerala. The rest of the 50% of the seats are for the institute management based on marks in the qualifying examination and/or the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination as per the Govt. of Kerala guidelines.

 

Result Analysis ::

AIT Palakkad offers 4 year B. Tech courses in five core engineering branches Viz., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science. AIT has entered into its 5th year of operation and the first batch (2012-13) of students have already passed out this year. The pass % is as follows:

Here are some points for the students to face the KTU examination with confidence.

  • Gather as much information as possible: For four subjects, the question paper consists of three parts, Part A, Part B and Part C. Part A consists of short questions and all the questions have to be answered. Part B is from modules one to four and Part C from modules five and six. In these questions there is one choice each. Also the distribution of marks is different for these parts and varies from subject to subject. For Engineering Graphics and Engineering Mechanics there is only Part A and Part B. Before appearing for each of these examinations the students have to be thorough about the distribution of marks for the parts. Also one has to plan beforehand how much to write for short and long answer questions so that all the points are covered in the answer.
  • Studying for each subject: The study method varies from one subject to the other. In many subjects, it is better to practise problem solving rather than reading.
  • Use your study holidays effectively: One has to prepare a time table depending on the number of study holidays available and divide the time for different subjects. Get sufficient sleep too.
  • Formulae book: Engineering studies consists of theorems, which involve a lot of formulae. It is always better to make readily available formulae book/sheet. This will enable you to save a lot of time. Also one can memorise these formulae by just going through this.
  • Combined study: Combined studies will help a lot in engineering examinations. It should be taken seriously and not as wastage of time.
  • Also, spare some time to improve your handwriting, if needed. If your handwriting is good then the evaluator will go through the answers in detail.
